Mac Desktop Introductions
Desktop is one of the most fundamental, and the most frequently viewed by the user’s computer. As an advanced operating system, Mac got a very pretty desktop. In the first article I will explain the parts to your Mac Desktop.
The picture above is a screenshot of Leopard Desktop. If you are still using Tiger (Mac OSX 10.4) will be slightly different appearance, especially in the Finder window. Let us discuss one by one.
1. Apple Menu
Within this menu there are menus associated with the Mac Operating System. Like Shut Down, Restart or Log Out. Shortcut key to access the menu? is a group with CTRL + F2.

2. Menu Applications
Applications menu on the Mac is not like in Windows, where the application menu on Mac is always on top, while in Windows are in any application window.
Applications menu will change following the current application. To access the menu via the keyboard press Control + F2 and then press the letter in front of the menu. Suppose we want to access the Edit menu, after press Control + F2 E, or you can also use the arrow keys to select menus available.
3. Extra Menu
This is where the menu is extra, a small icon that can be a shortcut to your application menu or can also be an application itself, or also could be the status of such a system clock or your laptop battery capacity.
4. Desktop Icon
Icon on the desktop Mac is similar to the desktop icon in Windows, the difference is, if the windows desktop icon on the left, if the Mac is the right of the screen .. hehehehe. Not only that, but still, when you go into the Mac desktop the first time, there is only one icon ie Macintosh HD. In the picture below I’ve menggati Hardisk name and there is one additional hard drive.

5. Spotlight
Spotlight is a smart search feature. You can find everything with Spotlight, your old email messages, Mac applications in the Application folder, what is in your Mac.
Spotlight you can access by pressing the button? + Space. In the next article we will discuss about the further use of Spotlight.
6. Application windows
The application window is shown Finder, the file-processing applications built Mac. Mac application window has a shadow that give the impression of depth to the pile each window. 7. Finder icon
Finder icon in the dock can not lose. By pressing this icon will bring up Finder window.
8. Application Dock icon
Dock is one of the leading feature in the Mac. Dock serves as a launcher as well as an application or switching between applications. Application running on the mark with fluorescent white light for the Leopard, the Tiger is marked with a triangle. You can access the Dock by pressing CTRL + F3.
9. Stack
Stack only found in Leopard, the Tiger stack replaced the shortcut to the folder of your choice. In Leopard stack looks much cooler than Tiger who only just got a List View.
Stack in Leopard there are three kinds of views, namely: Grid (picture above), Fan (as fans), and the List view (as in Tiger). To change the display mode, you need to do right click the stack icon and select the view you like.
10. Tong trash icon
In Windows called the Recycle Bin, the Mac is called the Trash or Trash. The files are deleted will enter into the Trash, the file will be in the trash until you clean it.
To clean your garbage can do with a Right Click on the Trash icon and choose Empty Trash, or press the button? + Shift + Delete the selected Finder window.
Trash icon can also change the icon when you click on eject media that can be removed like a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM drive or network volume.
